You may have recently seen the press release from the City of Fishers announcing vibrancy grant recipients. We are excited to let you know Sand Creek Farms was a grant recipient this year!
We’re very excited about this grant, and we are currently working to finalize details with vendors to begin work.
The grant money will be used in the following ways:
- Sidewalk repair – As a board, we recognize that a lot of the neighborhood has uneven and damaged sidewalks. We have made the decision to replace those areas that are not safe. We are working to finalize those locations and will share that information when it’s available.
- Electrical outlets at the entryway – We are adding additional outlets to the entryway so that we can hang holiday lights.
- New flags – The flags we purchased last year were damaged by the trees. We’ll be putting up new, higher quality and more durable flags.
These ideas came from conversations with neighbors and our board meetings. We all desire to have a safe and inviting neighborhood. This grant allows us to do much larger projects than we initially considered, and we are excited to take advantage of the 80%-20% match it offers.
Additionally, if you have been considering removing any pear trees or curb trees, now would be a great time to do that before the sidewalk repairs. We encourage you to take advantage of the Cost Share 50% matching grant available through the Hamilton County Soil & Water department to homeowners for removal of pear trees.
